Congratulations to all the winners of the Best of Earth fulldome festival.

How nice to see so many creative and innovative productions in this year’s festival program. The field of fulldome shows is growing and thriving. In addition to terrific science shows about planets and stars, colorful movies of all sorts appear under the dome. Art, the environment, human relationships, and important questions about exploring the universe were all depicted in the shows that were selected to be shown in the Best of Earth program.
The Best of Earth program was broadcasted at four festivals at once: Dome Fest West, FullDome Festival Jena, Fulldome UK and Dome Under Festival. Best of the best were chosen by an independent international jury:
Kelley Francis, Fulldome Creative, US
Michaela French, Leeds Arts University, UK
Volkmar Schorcht, ZEISS, Germany
Gordon Kurowski, CalArts, Los Angeles, California, US
Alicia Sometimes, Melbourne, Australia

After the evaluation of the professional jury members, the following awards were given:

Best Science & Education Film: “Living Worlds” by Ryan Wyatt & Cheryl Vanderbilt;
Best Full Feature Film: “Legend of the Enchanted Reef” by Peter Popp;
Best Art & Experiment Film: “Suprematism – The Day Before” by Sergey Prokofyev;
Best Short Film: “In the Land of the Flabby Schnook” by Francis Gélinas;
Special Jury Selection Film: “Ayahuasca – Kosmik Journey Dome Experience” by Agata di Tommaso;
Best Student Film: “A toothless Grin” by Kristin Jakubek.

Congratulations to all the winners. The competition was very strong, so the producers of the awarded shows can be really proud of their work.
