Fulldome Festival Brno 2023

At the beginning of 2014, the first festival took place in Brno. It consisted of 6 shows and accommodated 60 visitors. In the course of time, the festival has expanded and since 2015, more and more film producers and visitors have attended the festival. The Fulldome Festival Brno 2019 had the most visitors so far and it was sold out. In total 189 visitors came to see 49 fulldome shows.
The aim of the festival is to connect the producers of amazing shows for digital planetariums with the operators of such planetariums. There are no lectures or workshops organized, because the focus of the Festival is on the shows. The festival mainly presents shows with a story, which is why experimental films and school projects are excluded from the programme.
Reconstructed in 2018 the Brno Observatory has a high quality projection system, which allows to present full dome shows in 2D (up to 6k) and 3D (up to 4k). Thanks to this technology, film producers can show their fantastic films in the best quality.
Fulldome Festival Brno is the celebration of fulldome shows’ creators and all planetarium operators, who support people’s interest in stars… and actually in the whole universe.
